Cafés in Chennai | Entrance Cafe Kilpauk

A beautifully conceptualised space with excellent food. It irks me when food bloggers hype up a place with carefully edited aesthete while the food is sub par.

Entrance Cafe came recommended from close friends and it did not disappoint. It’s truly cut out from the buzz on Taylor’s Road once you step inside.
It’s great to cozy up on a date or laugh out loud with the girl gang.

The food selection is typical of food outlets these days – starters, sandwiches, pizzas, risotto, pasta and pastries for dessert. I don’t recall a signature dish but they are still young.
The pastries deserve a special mention esp the basque cheesecake.

The Cafe section is in association with Marc’s Coffee which was extremely disappointing. Barista Chandini is super sweet but told me all cold brews come with Monin’s – which they had a whole array of. It took a bit of explaining and ensuring to get an iced Americano sans anything else and it wasn’t great.

But people don’t come here for the specialty coffee and I observe this as a growing trend about specialty cafe in Chennai, so I wasn’t surprised.

Santoshima was very attentive and made the whole experience seamless. Mohan saw us looking into the fish pond that also houses a few tiny turtles and took some time to tell us about their antics.

Overall great food and excellent ambience, just get an iced tea or a mojito and you will be fine.
