#1 : Water
#2 : Grind Size
#3 : Water : Coffee Ratio
#4 : Filter Paper
Filter paper is non negotiable if you want good coffee. The basket filter that comes with the machine is great but the fines escape making your coffee very muddy. Kalita 102D filter paper works fine. You might have to tweak the bottom a bit to seat it properly. This makes a great difference to your brew. So please dont skip this. I havent tried cloth filter. The idea is to simply the coffee brewing process at work. Iam not up for disposal of grounds and washing the cloth filter while at work. So paper it is.
